What is Stepping On?
It’s a step by step 7-week fun and effective educational program for mobile elders that will enable you to effec- tively teach them a few basic principles that really work to help them avoid falling! It was developed by respected Australian eldercare researchers Dr. Lindy Clemson and Megan Swann, and University of Wisconsin Geriatrician Dr. Jane Mahoney.
University research studies show that the Stepping On falls education program reduced falls by a huge 31%! This makes it one of the few comprehensive falls programs that’s actually research-provento reduce falls!
Using a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) educational development grant, the manual was edited into a teaching format at the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging, and is currently being widely used throughout the US.
